Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Strevalo. Can't find your answer? Contact us and we'll help.
Getting started
No. Strevalo is designed to be used by anyone. If you can use OBS (a free piece of software), you can go live. We provide step-by-step setup guides and our support team is available to help.
RTMP is the protocol used to send your stream to Strevalo. OBS Studio is the most popular (and free) software for doing this. You download OBS, paste in your Strevalo server URL and stream key, and press Start Streaming. A browser studio option is also available for lighter setups without OBS.
Most users are live within 10 minutes. You sign up, create an event, copy your stream key into OBS, and press Go Live. Your stream key is available immediately after creating an event.
Plans & billing

Yes, absolutely. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. There are no cancellation fees or lock-in periods.
We will notify you before you reach your limit. You can upgrade your plan instantly from your dashboard without interrupting your stream. We will never cut off your event without warning.
Yes. You can change your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Events & access
When creating your event, simply select "Password Protected" as the privacy mode and set a password. Viewers who open your watch link will be shown a password entry screen before they can watch. You share the password privately with your intended audience.
Yes. The Strevalo watch page works on all devices — phones, tablets, laptops, and smart TVs. No app download is required. Viewers simply open the link in any modern browser.
If replay recording is enabled when you create your event, the recording is saved automatically when your stream ends. It becomes available on the same watch link within minutes. Viewers can return to watch the replay at any time — subject to your access settings.
Technical
We recommend a minimum upload speed of 5 Mbps for a reliable 1080p stream. For best results, use a wired ethernet connection rather than Wi-Fi. A speed of 10 Mbps or above is ideal for professional-quality broadcasts.
We recommend: Output resolution 1920×1080, frame rate 30fps, bitrate 4000–6000 kbps, encoder x264 or your GPU encoder. In OBS go to Settings → Stream, select Custom, and paste your Strevalo server URL and stream key.
There is no hard time limit on stream duration. Solo plan events can run for standard event lengths. Pro and Business plans have no duration restrictions. Contact us if you are planning a very long broadcast.
